Program Overview

R and Python are the two most popular programming languages currently used by data analysts and data scientists. Both are free and open source, and were developed in the early 1990s—R for statistical analysis and Python as a general-purpose programming language. The core of R is an interpreted computer language which allows branching and looping as well as modular programming using functions. R allows integration with the procedures written in the C, C++, .Net, Python or FORTRAN languages for efficiency. R has an effective data handling & storage facility.

As technology improves, for commercial organisations, data analytics companies and research institutions, collection & analysis of data has become more and more complex. R has been adopted by many as the language of choice to analyse data. R is great for machine learning, data visualisation and analysis, and some areas of scientific computing.
R is freely available under the GNU General Public License, and pre-compiled binary versions are provided for various operating systems like Linux, Windows and Mac.

Key Takeaways for Participants:

Fundamentals of R
  • Learning the basics of a much-in-demand language, ideally suited for Analytics and used in ML too, enhances the 'market value' of the participant.
  • Given its language like syntax & structure, learning R does not require prior knowledge of programming.
  • A knowledge of R, together with a knowledge of Descriptive, Predictive, Prescriptive & Big Data analytics could open up various possibilities within your present organization & externally.
Analytics with R
  • R and most Analytics apps are made for each other. An in-depth knowledge of R equips participants for a foray into the high growth world of Analytics.
  • It provides you with the statistical knowledge / refresher which is so necessary for a professional foray into the world of Analytics.
  • For those with no prior knowledge in or background of programming, this program, preceded by the 'Fundamentals of R' program would equip participants adequately for a career in the high demand and high growth area of Predictive, Prescriptive & Big Data Analytics.
